Electronics giant Panasonic wants to get back in the game.
The tech firm better known for flatscreen TVs is developing a handheld video-game player - codenamed: the Jungle - likely marking its return to the video-game industry after more than a decade, two company insiders said.
Although Panasonic, along with Sega Sammy and Atari, ceded the console market to Sony and Nintendo long ago, a return to the video-game market could potentially propel sales.
"Jungle is an ongoing project that Panasonic is pursuing," a company spokeswoman said.
