Incoming rookies may be out of sight as NFL players representatives began their annual meetings Wednesday at a swank resort.

But they are hardly out of mind.

The NFL Players Association is contemplating staging an alternative event in New York to christen the newest crop of rookies, and buck the tradition of the NFL Draft on April 28-30.
