About 16,600 Lithium-Ion batteries used with Magicshine bicycle lights in the United States and 1,500 batteries in Canada were voluntarily recalled for fire hazards by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Health Canada and the distributor, Datseplots Inc., dba GeoManGear. The CPSC announced the product recall on April 19, 2011.

As far as I know, Magicshine has changed their battery suppliers to HYB and CBAK (NASDAQ) companies in 2011. They are very large battery companies and their batteries have much better quality than the previous battery supplier. All magichine bike lights and batteries sold on brightstonesports.com are manufactured in 2011 and are not part of the CPSC recall.
