Nicole Richie's time as a vapid, wild child on her breakout reality show The Simple Life seems so long ago. Since then, she's cleaned up her addictions, cleared her legal issues, become a mom and launched two successful accessories and clothing brands, House of Harlow and Winter Kate.

Now, she's heading back to the reality TV game as a judge and mentor on NBC's upcoming competition, Fashion Star. The network announced that Richie and menswear designer John Varvatos will join the show, which already has singer-turned-fashion-empress Jessica Simpson attached.
