Starting in 2012, there will be no NASCAR races at Indianapolis Raceway Park (aka Lucas Oil Raceway).
The little more than two-thirds mile track owned by the NHRA, will no longer have the Nationwide or the Truck series races, which were run on the same weekend as the Cup race (Brickyard 400) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).
The Nationwide race has been tentatively scheduled to move next year to IMS, purportedly to help with attendance at the big track. Also, car owners can better take care of or partner with sponsors when they're at bigger venues like IMS. The Trucks are not scheduled for any races next year in Indianapolis.
