While the Microsoft Kinect was initially created with video games in mind, the applications of the motion control accessory can essentially replace the modern remote control as we know it.
It's not official, but that might be why The Daily is reporting that Microsoft is signing licensing deals with Sony. Not their PlayStation division, mind you, but Sony's TV section, which includes their Vizio HDTV lineup. Other television hardware manufacturers are reportedly in the mix, as Microsoft wants to push their brand of motion control into gesture-based living room entertainment.
