The anticipation that New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul would be headed to Los Angeles, this time to the Clippers, again turned out to be a false alarm.
For the second time in less than a week, the league-owned Hornets failed to get a deal done for Paul that satisfied the NBA. The All-Star, in the final year of his contract, has told the Hornets he will not sign an extension to stay.
The Clippers felt "the cost was just too high" Monday, said general manager Neil Olshey, who didn't necessarily rule out reviving the deal.
