Hello, New Year. Goodbye, New York Rangers, Knicks and Islanders — along with the New Jersey Devils.
The futile negotiations between MSG Network and Time Warner Cable failed to produce a last-minute deal, leading to a blackout of the MSG and MSG Plus channels at 12:01 a.m. Sunday.
The shutdown affects 1.3 million Time Warner subscribers in New York City, its northern suburbs and New Jersey.
The first unaired games could arrive Monday night, when the Knicks play the Toronto Raptors and the Devils take on the Ottawa Senators.
