Twisted Metal has just made its return to gaming, but the franchise is already thinking even bigger.

The video game series, a PlayStation exclusive line known for its vehicular combat, will reportedly make its way to the big screen. According to the film news site Deadline, Sony Pictures has signed Brian Taylor, the co-director of “Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance,” to pen the story and direct the film.

Avi and Ari Arad will handle production, and the plot will revolve around an “underground” racing event, the site also reported.
