A Washington television reporter was temporarily driven off the air by threats about her stories exposing underage drinking.
Andrea McCarren, who works for WUSA-TV in the nation’s capital, opted to take the forced sabbatical when her two kids were harassed by classmates at school and on Facebook.
“That’s where I drew the line,” McCarren told The Washington Post after deciding with station officials to take a week off the air.
McCarren was targeted over a pair of reports: The first involved underaged customers buying alcohol at a Washington liquor store, the second about a police bust of an underaged drinking party in Bethesda, Md.
